摘要
Power distribution network (PDN) and water distribution system (WDS) are major infrastructures for the urban power supply. In order to cut off the high electricity expense of water pumps in WDS and find a way to accommodate more distributed renewable energy resource in PDN, the PDN is coupled with WDS through water pumps to form a water-energy nexus, and a joint PDN-WDS optimal dispatch method is also proposed. In this method, water pumps mainly run during periods when wind power output is high, and electricity price is low. The electricity expense is reduced and the issue of wind power curtailment is solved at the same time. A case study is provided to show that the method proposed can obviously improve wind power accommodation ability, as well as reduce the total expense of the system. It also suggests that the method helps improve the operation pattern of water pumps and has a positive effect on voltage quality of PDN. The joint PDN-WDS optimal dispatch also relies on appropriate reservoir capacity, which can significantly improve the economy of joint PDN-WDS dispatch operation. © 2019 Automation of Electric Power Systems Press.
