摘要
Vitamin E is a widely used in medical and animal medicine. The oxidation of 2,3,6-trimethylphenol (TMP) can produce 2,3,5-trimethyl-1,4-benzoquinone (TMQ) and 2,3,5-trimethyl-1,4-hydroquinone (TMHQ), i.e. the key intermediates of vitamin E. Copper catalysts were prepared at different pyrolyzation temperatures and applied to catalyze the TMP oxidation to TMQ and TMHQ under mild conditions. The characteristics of the copper catalyst were carried out using a series of characterization methods. The copper catalyst Cu@CN-700-2h was found to be Cu metal coated with thin layer of Cu2O supported on the N hybrid carbon materials. The results show high TMP conversion (99.0%) and high selectivity of TMQ and TMHQ (62.9% and 37.1% respectively) with 25.0 mg Cu catalyst under 40 ℃ and 0.25 MPa oxygen pressure in acetonitrile. The catalyst Cu@CN-700-2h could be reused more than 5 times without deactivation. © 2020, Editorial Board of "Journal of Chemical Engineering of Chinese Universities". All right reserved.
