摘要
The incipient wetness method was used to prepare Sm modified Ni/Al2O3 catalysts which was applied in methanol steam reforming for hydrogen production. Effects of the rare-earth metal Sm on catalytic activity were investigated. The results indicated that the addition of Sm is favorable for the separation of NiO from NiAl2O4, resulted in the increase of amount of Ni after the reduction process. Thus, the H2 selectivity was improved from 86.7% to 95.8% and methanol conversion was improved from 82.6% to 92.6%, while the CO selectivity was decreased from 21.9% to 4.9%. The optimum content of Sm in the catalyst is 10%. Above this content, the particle size of NiO is oversize, then catalytic activity is decreased. © 2019, Editorial Office of Journal of the Chinese Society of Rare Earths. All right reserved.
