摘要
Many prefectural art museums are designed by famous architects to represent the prefectures. In addition, these museums use traditional building materials and advanced technologies. They also serve as landmarks and tourism resources. However, these museums have a high construction, repair, and maintenance cost. In this case study, we analyze the repair and maintenance cost of two prefectural art museums since their opening to recent years. Furthermore, we summarize the details of regular and long-term maintenance and repairs, the state of income and expenditure including costs, and the operational ideas behind them. © 2021 Architectural Institute of Japan.
