摘要
The purpose of the paper is to present an insight into the prevalent technology push (TP) and demand pull (DP) practices for realisation of sustainable development in manufacturing industries. The present study has been carried out in large and medium scale manufacturing enterprises to evaluate the performance of various issues of TP-DP strategies and sustainable development. It also includes the performance of companies based on critical barriers in transitions between TP and DP strategies for sustainable development. The research exploits statistical and mathematical tools to extract substantial results. It is apparent from the present study that manufacturing industries have been able to improve the business performance by practicing comprehensive TP-DP initiatives and most of them have successfully achieved the sustainable development. The study adds value to the area of sustainable development in manufacturing industries by calculating percent points score (PPS) for each issue of technology push, demand pull and sustainable development.
