摘要
To solve the problems of lack of theoretical setting basis, high requirement for sampling frequency and poor anti-interference ability in present single-end protections for HVDC transmission lines, a novel distance protection based on criterion extremum online estimation was proposed in this paper. The low-frequency voltage signal can be approximated as linearly distributed along the DC line. When a short-circuit fault occurs inside the line, the ratio of the compensation voltage to the measured voltage is less than 0, and when the fault is outside the area, ratio is greater than 0. Since HVDC lines are extremely long, an online estimation method for the maximum ratio was proposed considering the line parameter error. It was proved that compared with shrinking protective range, the new method can more effectively prevent the differential-equation-algorithm-based protection against misoperation. A ±800kV Yun-Guang HVDC transmission system was built to test the performance. Simulation results show that under the condition of the parameters having error, the proposed distance protection can distinguish internal faults from external faults correctly and quickly, while the traditional method has to reduce a large margin to prevent the protection from transient transcendence. © 2020 Chin.
