摘要
As the corrosion of zirconium alloy cladding is one critical factor for the in-core performance of the fuel rod, its mechanism model is studied and its effect on the fuel rod integrity is analyzed. The analysis method for the effect of the corrosion on the cladding stress, self-support, collapse is established. The cladding corrosion effect in the reactor operation is analyzed, and the quantitative evaluation result is obtained, taking the fuel rod in a small reactor as the study object.. The results showed that the cladding corrosion thins the effective cladding thickness continuously and degrades its carrying capacity. When considering the cladding corrosion, the instantaneous collapse and creep collapse gradually accelerates and deteriorates with the increasing of the operation time of the reactor, and a sudden change occurs when reaching a certain value, which greatly affect the integrity of the fuel rod and the safety of the reactor core. © 2020, Editorial Board of Journal of Nuclear Power Engineering.
