摘要
Cultivated meat is also called biocultivated meat and cultured meat. Because it can provide humans with real animal protein while bypassing animal feeding, cultivated meat is considered to be one of the most potential solutions to the dilemma of meat production and consumption by humans in the future. Therefore, it has an extremely high potential commercial value. However, global regulatory systems have not had any regulatory practical experience on this new type of meat food. It is urgent to establish a regulatory policy system covering the entire process from the production to the consumption of cultivated meat.As the world's most populous country, China has a huge annual meat production and consumption volume with a rapid growth rate, making it a promising market for the development of the cultivated meat industry. Therefore, China needs to make an overall plan for the construction of a regulatory system for cultivated meat at the national level in advance in order to cope with the new challenges posed by the continuous progress of science and technology and to promote the rapid development of related industries. This review article summarizes the regulatory practices and innovative explorations of the United States, Singapore and the European Union on cultivated meat and proposes some policy recommendations for the establishment of a cultivated meat regulatory system in China following the strategic, guiding and practical principles based on the current status of the development of cultivated meat and related regulatory practices in the country. © 2021, China Food Publishing Company.
