This article presents underwater manned equipment for detection and operation in the U. S. and Russia, including the manned submersible, secret servicing submarine, deep-sea work station, and so on. Technical characteristics and applications of various equipment are analyzed. On this basis, common characteristics of detecting and operating equipment in the U. S. and Russia are summarized, which gives enlightenment to the future development of underwater manned detecting and operating equipment in China. © 2019, Editorial Office of Ship Building of China.
