Intermediate joint failure is the most common problem encountered in the operation of 35 kV XPLE cables. Defects in the production of intermediate joints are an important factor affecting their operating life. The electric field is a physical field, which exists observably but cannot be described. In this paper, the electric field distribution data between each measuring point is obtained by detecting the electric field state of the cable joint, and the simulation of the electric field distribution of the cable joint is realized by studying the electric field distribution simulation. © 2020 by Begell House, Inc.
