The development of gear toward lightweight means that the gear body flexibility grows, which will lead to a series of dynamic problems for the thin-rimmed gear transmission and increase the vibration and noise of gear transmission. Therefore, a novel dynamic model is proposed that can reflect the structural flexibility of the thin-rimmed gear. The model is verified by comparison between simulation and experiment. The effects of centrifugal force and gear body flexible deformation on the dynamic characteristic of the gear transmission at high speed are studied. Furthermore, the impact of centrifugal force at various rotation speeds is also discussed. © 2023 The Authors.
