摘要
Factory of the Future – A Cross-industry Study on Future Trends. Due to numerous challenges for manufacturing companies caused by constantly changing requirements and new technological developments, a distinctive visionary picture of the factory of the future is missing. Not knowing the future relevant production trends and technologies makes the successful development of a future-oriented production system more difficult. To improve the planning of future production systems and factories, a survey conducted in which 194 leading companies from various industries took part. Based on five key dimensions of the factory of the future, relevant future trends of manufacturing companies could be identified. The results of the descriptive survey are presented and analysed in this paper and implications for the factory of the future are derived. Thus, the present paper serves to identify topics that today‘s factory and production planners have to deal with in order to be future-oriented and remain competitive. © 2022 Carl Hanser Verlag.
