In recent years; advanced artificial intelligence technology represented by deep learning has promoted intelligent development of various industries. As one of the important application areas of artificial intelligence technology; power grid dispatch and control system needs to learn from Internet thinking and make full use of artificial intelligence technology to further promote the intelligent level of power grid regulation business. This paper analyzes and summarizes development of artificial intelligence technology; and emphatically presents the deep learning technology triggering a new generation of artificial intelligence; and then discusses the demand analysis of artificial intelligence technology; focusing on the field of bulk power grid regulation. Based on above; the typical scenarios of applications of artificial intelligence technology are analyzed; including grid fault identification; load forecasting; power grid auxiliary decision-making and human-computer interaction. Finally; a preliminary research on the application of artificial intelligence technology in power grid regulation is carried out with examples of grid fault identification; providing useful reference for research and development of power grid regulation business intelligence. © 2020; Power System Technology Press.
