摘要
This paper presents a DC substation design scheme based on the modular dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter. The DAB modules are cascaded in input-parallel output-series (IPOS) structure with bidirectional power-flow capability, in which the low DC voltage at the input terminal can be raised to the medium or high DC voltage at the output terminal. The output terminal with high DC voltage of modular DAB converter is connected to the high-voltage DC grid, while the input terminal of each module with low DC voltage is connected to low-voltage distributed generators and loads. A compact high-frequency transformer is adopted in the DAB module, enabling the galvanic isolation between the input terminal and the output terminal. The serial-parallel balancing control is presented for the modular DAB converter, which is efficient, reliable and communication-free. As a result, there is the same droop relationship between the output-series voltage and the input-parallel voltage in each module. The electromagnetic transient simulation results show that the power of the DC substation is equally distributed among the DAB modules, so the input DC currents and output DC voltages of the modules can be kept balanced. © 2020 Automation of Electric Power Systems Press.
