摘要
This study used a vertical 2D model to simulate the sediment transport pattern in open channels by applying the Euler-Euler two-phase flow model or the complete two-fluid model based on the Favre averaging method. The projection method with a pressure correction technique, along with the time splitting algorithm was used for the first time to solve the Euler-Euler complete two-phase equations of fluid-sediment. Moreover, the conservation of mass and momentum of both phases was assured generally and partially in the equation discretisation stage by providing a novel method developed from integration of the momentum and continuity equations of each phase. At the end, the model's performance in simulating the sediment flow process was assessed. Assessment of the model showed its high capability in dynamic simulation of water and sediment flows either at the flow depth or along the channel. © 2019 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd..
