摘要
Ischemic stroke is a common and often devastating disease that prima rily affects the elderly.Treatment currently consists predominantly of acute thrombolysis and/or thrombectomy to restore blood flow.This reperfusion therapy,however,is only accessible to a small fraction of stroke patients,and even among these patients,many still suffer lifelong neurologic deficits.Thus,new stroke therapeutics are urgently needed to improve the quality of life for stroke patients.
