摘要
In the realm of chemical bonding, studying the weak interactions involving transition metal complexes is alluring. As an added bonus, it gives you a virtuous idea of the chemical reactivity of transition metal complexes and sheds light on the factors that affect their structure and behavior. The present perspective delineates the attractive Au<middle dot><middle dot><middle dot>H-N/C/O hydrogen bonds via extensive analysis by combining experimental and computational studies of their bonding situation. We delve into the characteristic properties of Au<middle dot><middle dot><middle dot>H interactions in gold complexes, incorporating the findings from recently synthesized stable organometallic gold(I)/(III) complexes. The literature was examined for illustrations of analogous molecular geometries to draw comparisons between these results. This perspective has covered the maximum examples of Au<middle dot><middle dot><middle dot>H-C, Au<middle dot><middle dot><middle dot>H-N, and Au<middle dot><middle dot><middle dot>H-O hydrogen bonding interactions from the recent literature, which are rarely visible in other reports. This perspective significantly improves our understanding of transition metal-hydrogen bonding (especially gold-hydrogen bonding) and its future applications.
