摘要
The purpose of this study was to investigate the constitution of the professional identity of sports coaches who teach soccer to children. Data were collected from narrative interviews with five coaches who graduated in Physical Education. To analyze the data, we performed transcription; reconstruction of diachronic and synchronic structure; comprehensive and comparative analysis. The results revealed that the process of identity constitution is the result of successive socializations carried out throughout life, resulting in negotiations between the relational and biographical dimensions. We concluded that the professional identity of those coaches is marked by a feeling of frustration, resulting in an identity that is unsatisfied with professional expectations and idealizes continuing education as a gateway to social recognition and better possibilities for professional insertion in the market.
