摘要
Introduction: Home care service (HCS) is a full-time hospitalization where patient's care take place at home. This alternative to standard hospitalization permits adaptative care. HCS after emergency department visit has been little studied. The main aim of this study was to describe 30-days readmitted patients characteristics, following HCS as discharge after emergency department visit. The secondary aims were to describe readmission modalities and patients 30-days mortality. Methods: This was a retrospective monocentric study on patients admitted in HCS from November 1st, st , 2021, and May 1st, st , 2022. Data were collected on patient's electronic medical file. Results: Over the 144 analyzed patients, 23 (16%) had a 30-day hospital readmission. Readmitted patients were younger, (75 vs 84; p < 0,05), were more followed in the hospital (91% vs 61%; p < 0,05), had a lower CRP level (52 vs 69 mg.L-1;-1 ; p < 0,05) and had different HCS reason. Among the 65 (44%) with palliative care, 5 (8%) had a 30-days readmission. Conclusion: Readmission rate for HCS following emergency department visit was low, comparable with standard hospitalization.
