'The queer pedagogical encounter: a continuum of futures' introduction to 'in queer minds' special issue

This article introduces the special issue of 'In Queer Minds' by discussing the conceptual impact of queer in formal educational institutions and the importance of developing and sustaining the queer pedagogical encounter. The introduction provides a brief philosophical and cultural study of queer as critical to the understanding of what it means to be human. It argues that universities and other educational contexts must make queer a common cause for the betterment of self, society and the world. The various articles in the special issue are also briefly introduced.
