摘要
Background: Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) site metastases from head and neck cancers have been reported many times using the pull technique, in which a catheter passes through the oral cavity and pharynx. Case presentation: A 69-year-old man with recurrent tongue squamous cell carcinoma underwent PEG placement using the introducer technique before chemoradiotherapy. After 6 months, the patient developed a metastasis of tongue carcinoma at the PEG site. Conclusion: The risk of PEG site metastasis is not eliminated even with the introducer technique, which is not in direct contact with the tumor.
