摘要
Sodium-ion batteries are widely recognized as the most promising energy storage device to succeed lithium batteries due to their safety, low cost, and abundant raw materials. Designing separators for ensuring safety is an essential path to construct advanced batteries through improving the mechanical properties as optimizing the electric field distribution and ion deposition. This work proposes a simple strategy to high strength bio-fabric separator by coating biomass materials (namely oxidized bacterial cellulose and on woven fabrics. The constructed separator has a high ion transference number, outstanding electrolyte and thermal stability. Benefited from abundant functional groups and high binding energy between glycine sodium, the assembled symmetrical battery exhibits highly stable sodium stripping/plating cycling of more 3, 300 h at both 0.5 mA cm(- 2) and 1 mAh cm(- 2) . Compared to commercial PP separators, the sodium-ion assemble with bio-fabric separator deliver a higher capacity and better rate performance. This work effectively improves cycling stable performance of sodium-ion batteries but also introduces a textile-based concept for preparing separators of energy storage devices.
