摘要
The formulation of the reputed complex [PdCl 2 ( L -proline)]center dot L -proline, recently reported by Jime <acute accent>nez-Cruz et al . ( J. Molec. Struct ., 2023 , 1294 , 136354), is questioned. This postulation is based on the reported diamagnetic nature of the material despite the presence of a presumed formally Pd(3+) metal centre within the crystal lattice. Comments are likewise directed to some aspects of the solution of the crystallographic dataset with respect to the structural elucidation of the reported material. Alternative hypothetical components of the crystalline material isolated in this previous study are put forward to explain some of the anomalies reported for the title compound.
