摘要:
The Covid-19 pandemic reshaped human interaction, necessitating a pivot to digital platforms for social engagement. This shift presented unique challenges for individuals with disabilities, who already faced significant barriers to participation in social activities. The enhanced isolation during the pandemic had a serious and detrimental impact on their mental health. Our study explores how social service organizations utilized video-sharing and video-meeting platforms to mitigate social isolation and enable interaction for people with disabilities during and after the pandemic. To this end, we conducted interviews with two assistive technology professionals at two different social service organizations to evaluate the impacts of their various programs implemented during this time.
