摘要
The integration of polymers and modified polymers in diverse drug delivery systems, including implants, gene delivery, and nano-based approaches, has significantly advanced therapeutic interventions. Implants-based drug delivery, utilizing bio-degradable polymers like poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA) and polycaprolactone(PCL), demonstrates efficacy in sustained release, enhancing patient compliance. Polymers synergize with gene delivery systems, efficiently targeting genetic material delivery and overcoming gene therapy challenges. In nano-based drug delivery, polymer-based nanoparticles (micelles, dendrimers, nanogels) provide precise control over release kinetics, improved uptake, and enhanced bioavailability. This review underscores polymers' pivotal role in developing advanced drug delivery, improving efficacy, and reducing systemic toxicity. [GRAPHICS]
