摘要：

Patients with diabetes exhibit an increased risk to develop cardiovascular disease and the presence of both comorbidities has a major impact not only on the prognosis but also the implementation of evidence-based therapeutic strategies to reduce cardiovascular risk. The new 2023 ESC Guidelines provide clear recommendations for the management of cardiovascular disease in patients with diabetes. The most relevant aspects are summarized in the following overview article.
