摘要
Given the ordinariness and pervasiveness of racism, Black student affairs educators experience racial battle fatigue, that is, exhaustion from continued exposure to racism. This racial battle fatigue has deleterious consequences on their emotional, mental, and physical health and well-being. Given racism, sexism, and patriarchy, Black women student affairs educators have unique experiences with racial battle fatigue, which often manifests as gendered racism. In this article, we use Black feminist thought as a framework to illustrate how gendered racism affects Black women educators and how they work to heal from gendered racial battle fatigue. We provide implications for practice for those wishing to better support Black women student affairs educators in healing from gendered racism.
