This article, which pays tribute to the memory of Pierre Moreau, analyzes Barr & egrave;s, , his 1970 contribution to the collection "Les & eacute;crivains devant Dieu," published by Descl & eacute;e de Brouwer. It retraces the spiritual journey that, while providing the opportunity to evoke Claudel and Henri Bremond, among others, ultimately led Barr & egrave;s beyond his nationalism and bears witness to the "attraction to the soul" that he always felt.
