摘要
SIJ imaging is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring axial spondyloarthropathies. Imaging tools like radiographs, CT scans, and MRI are valuable, with MRI being especially effective in early inflammatory sacroiliitis detection. It is necessary to understand SIJ anatomy, biomechanics, and clinical factors to avoid overdiagnosis, overreferral, and overtreatment in cases of noninflammatory SIJ changes. A comprehensive approach that considers both active and structural anomalies is essential for accurate diagnosis, and recognizing potential mimicking conditions is essential to prevent misdiagnosis and ensure appropriate patient care.
