摘要
Agaricus is one of the most diverse genera within basidiomycetes with more than 600 described species. Agaricus subg. Minoriopsis includes two sections, A. sect. Kerrigania and A. sect. Minoriopsis, with species that have a preferential distribution in (sub-)tropical areas exclusively in the Americas. So far, the species diversity of Agaricus is little studied in Mexico. With our continuing surveys of Agaricus in (sub-)tropical regions of Mexico, some of its hidden diversity has come to light. In this paper, we describe two new species of A. subg. Minoriopsis: A. calolepidotus and A. xalapensis, using a combined approach of morphological characteristics and phylogenetic analyses. Full descriptions, photo plates and comparisons with other similar species are provided.
