Corrosion of metal materials causes great loss and harm to the human economy and life. In this study, a new type of polysiloxane resin with different lengths of rigid and flexible chain segments was successfully prepared by Williamson ether synthesis and hydrosilylation. Nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectrometer (1H NMR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were used to characterize the precursor and synthetic resin (BPn, n = 0, 1, 3). BP1 and BP3 could directly form a dense resin coating with good adhesion on the metal surface by drop-casting. They possessed good hydrophobicity, and their water contact angles reached 127.4 +/- 0.9 degrees and 135.9 +/- 2.1 degrees, respectively. They could maintain favorable impedance values and their impedance value of BP1 and BP3 reached 12.80 gohm and 9.76 gohm, respectively. Moreover, the impedance value of BP1 drops to 1.6 gohm after the immersion test for 15 days, the reduction is less than one order of magnitude, which has good chemical stability and can maintain long-term corrosion resistance.
