摘要
The construction sector, pivotal for societal development, faces escalating demands alongside a concerning surge in accidents, particularly in Indonesia. With a pronounced deficiency in safety culture and a predominantly low-skilled workforce, integrating effective safety training becomes crucial. This study addresses this challenge by employing immersive technology, specifically virtual reality (VR), to enhance vocational education. Acknowledging VR's capacity to simulate real-world scenarios, a semi-immersive VR application was developed for teaching basic electrical safety of heavy equipment in Indonesian vocational schools. The research assessed the feasibility and effectiveness of the VR application through expert validation and student feedback. Results indicate a promising prospect for VR-based learning media to improve safety knowledge and skills among vocational students in contributing to a safer work environment in the construction field of work.
