It isproposed to distinguish several stages in this process, within which it is possible to tracethe changes in the topography of this phenomenon. The significant changes consisted inthe fact that the teaching of the Greek language and Greek book writing spread from thecapital center of education, founded by the Leichudes brothers, to other cities of thecountry. Novgorod became the next after Moscow in this process.
