The research focuses on fabricating Sabai fiber/epoxy composite laminates using a vacuum-assisted resin infusion process. The specimens are drilled using different drilling parameters, such as feed rate, tool rotational speed, and drill diameter. Taguchi's design of experiment L9 is used to analyze with Minitab 19. The circularity of the drilled holes is assessed by measuring their diameters at various points with a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and calculating the deviation from a perfect circle. Surface roughness is evaluated for the hole walls and the surrounding composite surface. The study identifies higher feed rate and tool diameter as more influencing parameters for circularity and roughness.
