摘要:
This study investigated the effects of aluminum (Al) incorporation on phase variations and magnetocaloric properties in La1.2(Fe,Co,Si)13 alloys. The Al played a crucial role in phase formation, unit cell volume expansion, and diffusion mechanisms between phases. Al incorporation increased the Curie temperature (Tc) near room temperature with the increase of the lattice parameter and consequently the unit cell volume. Furthermore, Al addition affected La(Fe,Co,Si)13 formation and suppression of secondary phases. The fraction of the La(Fe,Co, Si)13 phase became dominant in the Al-substituted alloys with a low Al content. As a result, the magnetocaloric properties were improved in low Al-incorporated alloys, even though Al has a non-magnetic nature.
