摘要
Founded in 1987, the Irish Traditional Music Archive (ITMA) is home to the largest, most comprehensive collection of Irish traditional music, song, and dance in the world. Interactive scores are one method used by ITMA to open up the collections to those who cannot read music, as Irish traditional music is primarily an oral tradition. The ITMA Web site is now home to over 10,000 interactive scores taken from out-of-copyright publications and manuscripts. Compositions also feature as interactive scores through the monthly composer series 'Saothar // new compositions for the tradition'. This series highlights the work of a different composer each month and provides a suite of learning resources, including interactive scores, for each composition.
