The Evolution of Racial Equity Initiatives at the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT)

This lighting talk will explore the development of racial equity initiatives at the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT). We will explore the organization's evolution from serving women across all racial groups to specifically carving out funding and initiatives for Black women. We will specifically focus on developments driven by student needs and student voice. We will talk through both unsuccessful and successful initiatives and lessons learned from 2006 to 2023.
