摘要
Depth sensors are a very useful technology that in recent years has had a rapid development making them more portable and easier to use for archaeological studies and heritage preservation. These technologies are cheap (economically and computationally), and easy to operate, they can be moved to sites and make reconstructions in indoors and outdoors. This research laid on the opportunity of having access to archaeology pieces to improve the categorisation and the conservation of those archaeological findings without extracting them from their sites. Different depth sensors were evaluated by comparing software and open-source techniques for the reconstruction of small and medium-sized heritage, making a contrast in qualitative and quantitative level. The main goal of this study is to evaluate different methods of 3D object reconstruction with different RGB-D and stereovision devices, achieving the configuration with best performance for 3D reconstruction of small pieces.
