摘要
According to Roberta "Bobbi" DePorter, President of the Quantum Learning Network, we learn 10% of what we read, 20% of what we hear, 30% of what we see, 50% of what we see and hear, 70% of what we say, and 90% of what we say and do. Contemporary methods of vocational training and academic education already realise the importance of combining instruments based upon all our senses to achieve optimal results in different subject areas. On the other hand, enhancing our knowledge of the history of humanity from deepest past to nowadays is a constant process of both formal and informal life-long learning. Key element in the learning process is the constantly developing tools based on Information Technologies. Virtual reality, computer animation, 3D modelling, as well as the variety of devices and their increasing accessibility provide an ever-wider variety of learning experiences. From recreation of single objects of cultural heritage to astounding animated digital reconstructions of whole buildings and even cities, the IT tools become a powerful mean to improve the understanding and the ability to perceive the world. This paper aims at presenting an overview of the different 3D animated reconstructions in the areas of history and cultural heritage and discuss the innovative potential of applying 3D modelling as an education and vocational training tool.
