Methodological reflections on the role of documents in ethnographic research

This article provides a series of methodological reflections on the place and role played by documents in my doctoral research project. Within this framework, a research practice that placed secondary importance on the search for and analysis of documents is reflected upon, placing participant observation and in-depth interviews at the center of its methodological strategy. The specific objectives of the article are: 1 degrees) to describe the process of accessing these documents and 2 degrees) to show the potential of the documents found to support, complement, relativize, and even question the data constructed through the observations and interviews conducted during the fieldwork.
