INDIGENOUS LITERATURE IN BASIC EDUCATION: REFLECTIONS AND TEACHING PROPOSAL

摘要
The indigenous literature is a tool to understand cultural and historical aspects of Brazil, because through it we can learn more about the language, the customs and the organization of the original peoples, in addition to work as an emancipatory space from the stigmatizing Eurocentric discourses. Therefore, this article aims to show the importance of the indigenous literature for social discussions in basic education and it also wants to present a means, based on the Law of Guidelines and Bases, to introduce this literature into the classroom reality. First, it was done a bibliographical review about the circulation of this literature in basic education schools, therefore, its importance for social discussion in education was analyzed, and moreover, there is a suggestion for a didactic proposal to insert this literature into the Brazilian students reality. The article concludes that the indigenous literature in education may provide not only an artistic and literary approach, but also an opportunity to discuss social issues and to combat prejudice.
