WATER AND FUEL POVERTY IN REUNION ISLAND: ANALYSIS OF THE DETERMINANTS USING A BIVARIATE PROBIT MODEL

The current rise in energy prices has significant consequences for households suffering from fuel poverty. Another often unknown reality affects French households: it is water poverty. This refers to experiencing difficulties in paying water bills. Unlike fuel poverty, the state of knowledge on this subject is still limited. This work sheds light on the concept of water poverty. It assesses the extent of water poverty in La R & eacute;union and presents the profile of households. It also focuses on the most vulnerable households, those affected by both water and fuel poverty, and outlines the factors contributing to this dual poverty through a bivariate probit model.
