摘要
With the widespread use of power systems in daily life and the development of new power electronic devices, interest in power converters has increased. Supplying increasing requirements and reliability are essential for designers. Power system simulations, and particularly real-time simulations (RTS), are a current topic of ongoing research. It is necessary to examine the state of power converters before they are used in real-time applications and to observe the problems that may occur in the application first in the design phase and then in the simulation environment. For this reason, it is vital to model power converters as close as possible to actual operation. In this study, a real-time simulation that can perform the functions of a DC-DC boost converter is designed with a programmable gate array (FPGA) and MATLAB. This design is then analyzed using the Backward Euler (BE) method and implemented in FPGA-based hardware. To understand the accuracy of the RTS, the obtained results are compared with offline simulations. The comparison shows that the proposed RTS model is applicable to real-time simulations of power electronic converters.
