摘要
The patient with Amelogenesis imperfecta (AI) has a genetic condition that affects their tooth enamel from the primary dentition in many cases, presenting complaints in its aesthetics, function and sensitivity. There is a need to rehabilitate this patient who is immersed in a process of growth and development. Treatment options vary according to the type of dentition, the patient's age, the degree of AI involvement, the AI phenotype, socioeconomic status, and what the professional can offer. The aim of this research was to conduct an updated search for the different restorative treatment options for young patients with amelogenesis imperfecta. An updated bibliography review was carried out in various electronic databases such as MEDLINE, EBSCO, PubMed, LILACS, Web of Science, EMBASE, Cochrane Library; from 1995 to 2024. It is concluded that the pediatric or adolescent patient with AI has special needs, while consolidating aspects of their selfesteem and self-perception. The dental team must provide comprehensive dental management that returns the individual's function, aesthetics and personal satisfaction.
