摘要：

The Professional Rehabilitation Program (PRP) is a public policy of service for the worker disabled for the development of his functions/activities due to disease or work accident. In face of that, this research aims at analyzing the contributions from PRP and the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) for professional (re)insertion and permanence. Methodological based is built by bibliographical research and official documents from INSS, laws, decrees, memos, internal guidelines and manuals of technical procedures elaborated by Social Security and INSS in order to standardize the institutional professional performance. We have also conducted interviews with semi-structured questions with workers that came from professional rehabilitation, and such interviews were transcribed and analyzed. Results show the need to rethink PRP's guidelines, since workers with a formal employment who entered social security benefit had obtained success in professional (re)insertion and permanence after leaving the Rehabilitation Program.
