摘要
The use of renewable energy seems to be vital as the demand for electricity power rises quickly. But the traditional electric power grid is not able to face the challenges raised by the modern power system. As the distributed generation (DGs) become more and more integrated into the grid, the power quality (PQ) and grid stability of the system will deteriorate. Therefore, to upgrade the existing scenario, a new concept of smart grid (SG) is evolved. This modern power grid infrastructure is used for improved efficiency and reliability through different controlling infrastructures and modern energy management techniques. Many grid interfacing devices (GID) are employed to improve the PQ by reducing the harmonics, enhancing the power factor and managing the imaginary power. In this literature, a modified pack U-Cell (MPUC) multilevel inverter (MLI) topology is proposed. The controlling strategy used in MPUC is of instantaneous active and reactive current technique for reference current generation and the adaptive fuzzy hysteresis current controller (AFHCC) is employed for switching signal. The regulation of DC link is controlled using different types of fuzzy logic controller (FLC). The response of MLI with different load and supply conditions is evaluated and authenticated through proper design in MATLAB/Simulink environment, and the results are validated using a real-time environment.
