摘要
We present a detailed study on the behavior of two cascaded injection-locked (IL) single-loop optoelectronic oscillators (OEOs). We develop a mathematical model based on the previously reported analytical theory of injection-locking of a single-loop OEO under the influence of a sinusoidal radio frequency (RF) signal. We provide formulas for the locking-range of the two individual IL-OEOs and two cascaded IL-OEOs. The frequency response characteristics of the two individual IL-OEOs and two cascaded IL-OEOs are investigated by considering amplitude perturbation. The closed-form expressions for the stability of the individual IL-OEO and the two cascaded IL-OEOs are derived using Routh's stability criteria. The influence of the injection-locking on the phase noise performance of the two cascaded IL-OEOs is investigated. Experimental results are provided to validate the conclusions. It is found that our analytical model describes the injection-locking behavior of two cascaded IL-OEOs accurately.
