Ricardo Piglia: Criticism and Society

The aim of this paper is to examine the critical device of the Argentinean writer Ricardo Piglia, from his beginnings to his posthumous publications, in order to show how one of the most effective frameworks of legibility of the last decades is shaped. To this end, we divide this work into three parts: 1) Literature and society, where we review the influence of the sociology of Marxist literature in Piglia's formation and his participation in three key journals: Literatura y Sociedad, , Los libros and Punto de vista. . 2) Criticism and society, where we analyze the concept of fiction and its relation to truth, ideology and the social in Piglia's work. 3) Politics of criticism, where we reflect on five mechanisms of Piglia's thought: writer's criticism, the avant-garde ethos, the ontology of crossing, mass criticism and materialist criticism.
