Eccentrically braced frames are often adopted in seismic areas due to their optimal combination of stiffness and ductility. This study focuses on the cyclic performance of links with bolted connections, which enable post-earthquake replacement of damaged dissipative elements. Finite element models of links are initially calibrated on previous experimental tests, replicating observed cyclic behavior. Experimental results for flush and extended end plate bolted links, with varying lengths, provide a benchmark for assessing the influence of link length and connection type on cyclic response. The finite element method is then employed to explore alternative solutions under cyclic conditions, extending the results beyond tested configurations. A comparative analysis of these options reveals the advantages and disadvantages of each solution under cyclic loading, contributing valuable insights for seismic design considerations.
