摘要：
The article essentially deals with African human rights, linked to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights (ACHPR), the main instrument on human and peoples' rights on the African continent. The aims of this article are to provide an overview of African Human and Peoples' Rights, as well as to systematise the main lines of the African system. The nature of the research is qualitative, based on a historical-legal analysis of the institutions and human rights instruments adopted since the then Organisation of African Unity (OAU) and the current African Union (AU), covering the real events that have taken place since its foundation to the present day. Therefore, the article, based on historiography, will take a preliminary look at African civilisation and its peoples, the origins of the human rights system in Africa, the characteristics of African human rights, the architecture of the human rights protection system in Africa, taking into account the advances, setbacks and challenges of the African human rights system.
